About the Office of the Chaplain & Religious Life:
Southern Methodist University’s Office of the Chaplain and Religious Life seeks to create an inclusive community that celebrates intellectual curiosity about religion and spirituality, nourishes ethical decision making, cultivates deep spiritual exploration and supports faithful living. About the Position:
The Office Coordinator provides critical support to the Office of the Chaplain and Religious Life at SMU, with particular focus on the Center for Faith & Learning. This position provides administrative support to the OCRL staff (2 full time chaplains, 2 part time chaplains and the Director of the Center for Faith & Learning). Reporting to the Chaplain and Minister to the University and the Director of the Center for Faith & Learning, the Coordinator manages the office environment and programmatic priorities to insure effective operations, communications and development. The Coordinator will demonstrate a commitment to integrating intellectual and spiritual life.

Qualifications
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree is required.
Two years work experience is required. Experience in administrative support, office management, communications or event planning is preferred.
Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) is required. Experience with Box is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Candidate must demonstrate excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to interface effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community. Must also possess the ability to communicate effectively in writing, with excellent spelling and grammar skills.
Candidate must possess strong organization, planning and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks. The ability to be flexible and adapt quickly to changing priorities is essential.
Must be strongly focused on details. Candidate must be able to appropriately and accurately handle financial responsibilities.
Candidate must have strong problem-solving skills with the ability to be resourceful, proactive, and seek assistance as needed.
Must be able to work independently as well as a collaboratively with colleagues, students and campus partners.
May require occasional evening work for events.
