This is limited-skilled manual work in the maintenance and upkeep of county parks and facilities, in addition to providing routine office and excellent customer service duties.
An employee assigned to this classification performs a variety of light tasks including the care and maintenance of parks grounds and facilities, routine office work of limited complexity involving the performance of general clerical functions, cash handling, and customer service.
Work is performed under the direction of a higher level supervisor and is reviewed through conferences, reports, and observation of results obtained.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
This is an emergency essential classification. Upon declaration of a disaster and/or emergency, all employees in this classification are required to work.Assists other crew members in varied work assignments.
Drives a County and/or personal vehicle to perform required duties.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of general grounds keeping.
Knowledge of methods and tools used in grounds keeping, nursery and landscaping work.Knowledge of basic janitorial services.
Skill in the use and care of gardening and/or nursery tools and equipment.
Skill in dealing tactfully and courteously with callers and visitors.
Ability to perform manual labor outdoors in various weather conditions.
Ability to operate light truck and maintenance equipment such as leaf blowers.
Ability to communicate professionally, effectively, orally and in writing.
Ability to reconcile daily transactions.
Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions.
Ability to work effectively, and efficiently, under limited, indirect supervision.
Ability to learn assigned tasks and adhere to prescribed routines.
